Sir Grange has been hand selected from over 10,000 different varieties of turf, with its superior qualities making it stand out from the crowd.
Available exclusively from accredited Lawn Solutions Australia members, you can be sure that Sir Grange has been tried and tested, and once established, will stand up to whatever the Aussie climate can throw at it.
Sir Grange was originally developed for the golf industry however, it was soon discovered that due to its characteristics, it would make a fantastic home lawn. Its adaptability to a variety of climates in combination with the beautiful dark green leaf have seen it become the top-selling Zoysia grass in the USA, under the name BRF Zeon Zoysia, and is already achieving similar results here in South East Queensland and across Australia.

High drought, sun and wear tolerance
Sir Grange is hardy and tough. It suits full sun situations and has high drought tolerance, once established. Sir Grange also has a high tolerance for foot traffic and wear, with excellent self-repairing capability, once the root zone is established to a depth of 200mm.
*Sir Grange requires regular watering and the Daleys Turf team recommends installing an irrigation system prior to laying this variety of turf. We also recommend installing Sir Grange on 100 – 200mm of sand or sandy loam, avoiding heavy soil or compost mixtures. These are important considerations for both residential and commercial lawns.
High shade tolerance & Low allergenic
Does your garden have areas of shade?
Not a problem! Sir Grange Zoysia can handle it. Unlike some other common grass varieties that require full sun to thrive, Sir Grange has a very high tolerance of shady situations after establishment, needing minimal direct sunlight.
Sir Grange is also a low allergenic grass type, and its soft fine leaf texture is ideal for children and pets.
Low maintenance and nutrient requirements
Less maintenance means more time to enjoy your garden. Sir Grange does not need mowing as frequently as other common grass varieties, and can be mown at a range of different heights to suit your garden and preference. You can even allow it to grow a few inches long, and the kids will absolutely love it! Just give it a small ‘trim’ once in a while. Not only that, but Sir Grange is less demanding of nutrients than other grass types!
With every Sir Grange purchase, no matter how big or small, you will be issued with a 10 year Product Warranty Certificate. This Certificate ensures you are receiving genuine Sir Grange.
The History of Sir Grange Zoysia
Sir Grange was developed from one of the largest turf grass breeding programs in the world, by one of the world’s leading turf grass breeders, Mr David Douget from Blade Runner Farms (BRF) Texas, USA.
Sir Grange is sold in the USA and Asia under the trademark of BRF Zeon Zoysia.
BRF Zeon Zoysia has been used on many world famous projects such as the Rio Olympics Golf Course, and can also be seen on Michael Jordan’s Golf Course Grove XXIII which opened in 2019, and several courses designed by Greg Norman and Tiger Woods.
Sir Grange (BRF Zeon Zoysia) can now be found on many high-end sites in Australia including Killara and Indooroopilly Golf Courses, along with Teven Valley Golf Course which Daleys Turf is proud to have the exclusive contract for. We have been producing and harvesting our Sir Grange to suit the specific requirements for Teven Valley Golf Course and upon completion of the project, the entire course will be wall-to-wall Sir Grange, excluding the greens.
Be sure to ask for Sir Grange by name!
With every success there will always be imitators that don’t have equivalent products themselves claiming to have a “just like” or “same as” products.
Blade Runners Farms (BRF) USA have gone to extensive lengths to protect the integrity and genetic purity of their Zeon Zoysia product. They have engaged the leading Turfgrass genetic assurance program called ITGAP (International Turfgrass Genetic Assurance Program) and only grass grown under the trademark of BRF Zeon Zoysia in the USA is covered by the breeder guarantee and ITGAP Certification.
Unfortunately, some non-licenced turf producers in Australia are attempting to fool the public and claim to have original Zeon Zoysia grass. Some have done this by changing the spelling of the name to Zion, or by naming their inferior variety of zoysia grass after popular USA golf courses and telling their customers that their zoysia is the same as Zeon Zoysia. One of these famous US golf courses in particular that they claim their zoysia to be named after, in fact had no zoysia grass on it as the climate was too cold and it actually had a cool season seeded grass mix on it.
Blade Runner Farms do not want to see their Zeon Zoysia product’s integrity or purity compromised in any way by the activities it observed from unlicensed turf producers in Australia.
A decision was made to import 100% pure, ITGAP Certified BRF Zeon Zoysia to Australia via the Australia Quarantine and Inspection Service. This extensive process that was complete in 2016. Lawn Solutions Australia were the only group of turf producers chosen to licence and grow BRF Zeon Zoysia certified plant material. It was then decided to ensure consumers get exactly what they pay for to release it in Australia under the Sir Grange Zoysia trademark.
Sir Grange Zoysia is the only licenced and pure source of BRF Zeon Zoysia in Australia. Consumers wanting the pure product that is breeder guaranteed and AusGAP certified need to insist on Sir Grange by name, or run the risk of receiving an inferior turf type.
