This turf was originally developed in America for the golfing industry but it was quickly determined that, due to its specific characteristics, it would be a great domestic lawn. One of its first tests was being featured quite heavily on the specially designed golf course for the Rio Olympics. The brief for this course was that it be turfed with grass varieties that required less water and fertiliser than others currently on the market. Sir Grange provided a highly playable and lush surface. The turf held up to varying water quality, limited amount of water for irrigation and fertiliser. It also choked out the weeds – a winner considering that herbicides could not be used on the site.
Overall, it passed with flying colours – going on to become the number one selling Zoysia grass in America.

Is sir grange turf suitable for golf greens
No, Sir Grange is not recommended for golf greens as it can only be mown down to 7 – 8 mm, however some customers are happy with this height and are using it.
