Wintergreen Couch (Cyndon Dactylon)
There are many types of green couches on the market today and we have grown quite a few of them, with our experience we find there is little difference between them so now we only grow the one variety which is Wintergreen. This is a hybrid variety developed for the sport fields but as it grows very quickly here in Queensland, we are able to grow several crops per year which makes it a cheaper grass variety and hence it's used in the building trade widely. It's fast grow rate, high fertilizer usage, lack of shade ability and attraction to army worm doesn't make it entirely suitable for the domestic situation.
